Default DEN 777 Sim Move = Best Decision Ever

I want to thank management for moving the CAL 777 sim to Denver. So far this year the training backup has lead to 4 of my 30 hour 777 trips being bought for currency. My Oct 11th trip was bought today and it appears my last trip of the month on the 17th may have to be bought as well since they are still working on Sept landing rides.

Was just at TK for a CQ. According to a friend that works at TK the FAA shutdown has put a crimp in the B777 move. What I understood them to say was one of the ex CAL sims that was moved needs to be FAA validated, but no one can do that with the shutdown. The guy I was talking to said there were several other items in other fleet sims that needed FAA approval. They are not sure what is going to happen with the FAA but this could impact the ability to run new hire and transition courses. If it drags on they may have to cut the training allotments and reduce new hire numbers and pare the flying schedule to meet the number of qualified bodies we have.

While getting trips bought now may be a good thing. The real reason behind the free days of pay may be more painful in the long run.

9/11, BK, ATSB, SARS, '08 recession, Age 65, Merger, Contract, ISL and now staring Govt Crisis. The bad news never seems to end.

Interesting, my bride (L-UAL) just gave two L-CAL pilots a CQ in that sim yesterday, and it's been used for roughly 3-weeks now. Me thinks that rumor may be a bit off.

It has been up and running. Now I'm being told from the schedulers that there is a lack of instructors. The 777 guys who were captains were given their papers so they went to do other things.

Did one of them go back and join the Navy SEALS?

Sonny can you do some work on your profile and get a picture back up on your Avatar? I count on your posts for reminders of the best TV show ever. Thanks.
