Pete McDonald to retire, Greg Hart to lead operations division
Posted December 5, 2013
After nearly 45 years at United, Chief Operations Officer and EVP Pete McDonald has decided to retire. Greg Hart, who previously served as technical operations senior vice president, will assume Pete’s responsibilities as the head of our operations division. Ken Burtt will fill Greg’s role as senior vice president of technical operations.
"It has been an honor and a privilege to work with Pete, and I thank him for his many contributions to United over his nearly 45-year career here," Jeff said. "While we will all be sad to see Pete go, I am confident that Greg will successfully lead our operations groups as we focus on improving our operational quality and efficiency while running an on-time airline with great customer service."

Be nice if we started considering poaching some of DAL's better mid level managers like they did from CAL a while back. The remaining CAL nimrods Jeffery brought with this merger clearly were leftover dopes, as the results eloquently show.
