golfer:

"Notice its only the guppy fleet this is happening to? 10 guppies delivery so far ordered on the UAL side, and ZERO trained Captains on those seats."

The problem is when one adds hundreds of guppies to the fleet one has to buy sims to go with them. There isn't enough training space to train the up and coming bids and bumps, it's that simple.

What a conundrum these "leaders" have developed for themselves.

I believe that you are correct. They are to incompetent to actually have a master plan.

Of course. They care about someone. I agree with others that they've simply lost control and cannot execute a long-term plan. It's a day-to-day crisis.

Probably the truest thing ever said on this board.

"TRUTH!"

I think they may have killed UAL-SKED as well. Or at least its so screwed up right now that its giving bogus info. I tried to check my status and open trips. Both times it said... "The date requested, December 30th is not valid." That response was given for the 29th, 30th and just for grins, again for January 1.

They left me a message last night to call for an assignment the next day. I called back and the guy said that I had no assignment. Sweet. They called back later and gave me a 7 AM short call, which I acknowledged. They called back again and asked my smartphone if I wanted to fly a 0710 departure instead. Alas, I was in rest for my upcoming 0700 SC and didn't get the message till 0701 this morning. Which really is too bad because I'm pretty sure that I could have single-handedly saved the airline from its implosion.

There are some entertaining tales of scheduler woe on the other forum as well. If I didn't have a mortgage to worry about and a retirement to fund it would be funny. But I do and its not. Someone really needs to step up in Willis and get this crap fixed. Its starting to look like 'Shares' all over again. I really hope that I'm wrong.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch....The ex-UAL 757 count is now 76, nine gone since September, two gone this month!! Guys sitting on their posteriors, and no displacements....YET. But summer is coming. Gonna need a little lead time for training. I predict a February displacement letter for multiple 756/76T bases including but not limited to Denver and Chicago.

Sorry but we've been told that the company won't do that, they will just let those pilots naturally bid off the airplane, and won't do displacements. This despite displacements now for a few months in a row.

But they continue to predict no displacements.

That is correct, no displacements.

Except of course, for the displacements.
