Are we upgrading international, I thought it cost like $hit loads of miles and most don't do that?

I was jumpseating and was assigned a seat in the back. After checking in with the captain I also very politely introduced myself to the purser and gave her my seat number. After the door was closed, she moved me up to an empty business class seat. It is not an automatic thing, and I have been left in the back before when there were empty seats up front, but not normally. Either way it is a free ride, and I wouldn't dare complain about being left in the back.

I hear you on that! Just a shame to see the old L-UAL policy for international OMC is no longer in place. If business was open you were cleared into a seat by the gate agent.

Default Internation Jumpseat on SW and UAL

Hey there had a question about jumpseating. I'm a CASS FO for another airline. Looking to jumpseat to Aruba on United then back on SW. Tried listing for SW through their number to be told to go through ID90 which I haven't met the date of hire to list non-rev. Should I just go to ticket counter day of and list for the jumpseat? Not too worried about getting there more so getting back through SW. Any help is appreciated.
