What is the show time requirement for a LGA trip when on short call? If i can be at EWR within 2.5 hours, when do I need to be in LGA? The contract mentions that consideration will be made for showing at an airport that is not the primary base, but does not seem to give any other details.
Thanks If you have a car there is also verbiage that states if you are given a short call out time and you park in long term parking the company will reimburse you. |

Thats exactly it, consideration will be given. If you came from a regional you are used to the "you have a trip in 15 minutes get there". At UA while on reserve I never once got a min time call out. The shortest call out I ever had was 5 hours notice.

Thanks guys....I am a commuter so no car. It sounds like if you make your best effort to get there as fast as you can all is good. Also, since I went to public school, I am not understanding the math for how much we get paid to get from EWR to LGA. Looks like 1.5 hours at $20/hr plus mileage. Someone said they get $130 or so, but my math says about $80 for the round trip. What am I am missing?

From section 69 of my "What I wish I knew when I was hired"
The dreaded LGA trip…how the &#@^ do I get there from EWR? o Newark Airport to JFK Shuttle Bus | JFK to Newark Airport § Bus departs each airport every 30 minutes between 0500-2330. o https://www.hopstop.com/§ From EWR—board Newark Airport Express Bus Service (blue & yellow bus) to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC; transfer to the NYC Airporter Express Shuttle Bus. § From LGA—board NYC Aiporter Express Shuttle Bus (white & green bus) to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC; transfer to the Newark Airport Express Bus Service. § Expect 2.5 hours to complete the trip. § Pre-pay on-line at address above, or purchase in the terminal; tickets are valid for 90 days after purchase. § $24 one-way. § Plug in your departure & arrival points, time of day (will probably have to use map feature to put arrival/departure points in, or type in “Newark Aiport” and “LaGuardia Airport”). o https://reservations.supershuttle.co...x?content=Rate§ Select mode of transportation (bus, train, combination bus/train, taxi). § Results will show routing, total time, cost, walking segments, etc. § Late night taxi will likely run $90 plus tip (~1+15 time); bus/train will run up to $25 (~2+45 or more time). § Maybe your best/cheapest option for early morning reports or late evening returns at LGA. § Execucar—$107 one way o Home | ETS airport shuttle § Relatively cheap—$32 one way § Read the Yelp reviews & be forewarned, this may not be a very good option if you’re in a time crunch (which you probably will be). o COACH BUS NEW YORK CITY | CHARTER BUS RENTAL § I’ve heard this is who United will contract to get you to LaGuardia if you ask them. You’ll have to pay the limo directly. § Expect $72 or so one way. |
