I've been told by my rep that the case is "progressing" well. Whatever that means.

The last update is from Jan 9 where availability dates of the arbitrators were being inquired. The case might be progressing but the training of the pilots in question is as well. What do you bet it will be settled after the perpetual reserve pilots are in the left seat?

I believe that all of the pilots who were displaced from their bid award, due to the ISL award, and who then participated in a displacement bid, as per the rules of the LOA and the UPA, have been trained in their rightful positions.

Those Captain bids were supposed to be canceled. The company let the CAL guys bid right back in to those seats in violation of the SLI decision.

It was wrong for UAL to open bases in LUAL cities (ORD, DEN, LAX, SFO) and NOT let LUAL guys bid those positions. If this hadn't happened, a lot of 2005 hires would never have gotten the left seat. That would have made it easier for them to understand why they didn't deserve to be senior to LUAL guys with greater longevity/career expectations.

That's OK....those poor suckers will languish as bottom feeder reserves for the next 15 years!

It will be nice to take my guppy Captain bid and instantly hold a line...

All of the captain bids were canceled. The effected pilots were displaced at that point and bid according to the Upa. Some of them, who held captain on the last cal bid, could no longer hold captain and went to other FO positions.

As for the injustice of cal opening bases in lual hubs, were lual bases not also opened in cal hubs? Iah 76t, Iah 320, NYC expansion into Newark?

I agree!!! Also, LCAL should have never hired furloughed LUAL pilots and hired off the street. Hindsight 20/20.

Rightful positions? They are roughly 4000 numbers out of position. You have got to be kidding me. Junior DEN Cap doesn't go anywhere near 9000 if UAL guys get a shot. Say what you want about the UAL guys getting IAH and EWR, but many of those slots went unfilled. There might be a reason for that. Many of us have taken it in the shorts in DEN and other hubs for years trying to move forward and for CAL guys to get those slots thousands of numbers out of order is just plain wrong.

I wasn't looking for a cal style defense of their arguments. Just wanted to know a timeline of when the arbs would render a decision.

Are we reading the same contract? If an ORD 320 FO with a 9000 seniority number is displaced next week, is he not entitled to displace bid into a left seat position?
