Going to be increasing the block hours on the Denver 76T by 75% not a typo 75%. The other Denver fleets also get major block hour increases. It also states that the majority of those increased hours will be all night and early morning pairings.

Get ready to bend and spread boys and girls and remember don't fly fatigued. I thought that we were going to replace the 76T with mega Guppies, Waaahaaapen? Oh yeah, UCH is to messed up to actually get anyone trained. You'd think that if they were going to buy hundreds of super gups they might would have wanted to maybe just maybe get a simulator or two and some instructors on line first. Just a thought.

Here it is,

MANPOWER AND SCHEDULE PRODUCTION

DEN 76T will see about a 75% increase in block hours for June. (Not a typo)

DEN A320 will see about a 30% increase in block hours for June.

DEN 737 will see about a 25% increase in block hours for June.

This increase is for the summer season only and will decrease in the fall.

The majority of the additional flying will be early departures and ANF/Red Eye flying. For junior line holders when constructing your PBS bid for June, take into consideration the impact of the early and late flying. Bid with a realistic expectation based upon your seniority as a line holder. If you are not willing to accept a line with the possibility of early departures and/or ANF/Red Eye flying, consult the PBS help line to structure your bids correctly and allow for limited ‘non desirable’ flying or a quality reserve line (desired days off) over the possibility of your bids going into completion mode and receiving a less desirable line of flying.

Not sure why this is a BAD thing? So you're complaining about "growth'? They just put a "new" simulator in the training center last month for a total of 8 (I think) 737 sims. Again, whats your complaint?

What's my complaint? You really are clueless. Here I am with 17 years on the property STUCK on the bottom of the list in the right seat of the 76T. Not one single solitary iota of growth or a chance for advancement has come my way. And now I get to be a whipping boy on reserve for the lying, cheating POS that are the crew desk this summer.

Oh boy I can't wait. I guess I could always take one if those 100 guppy FO bids in EWR and commute. Oh BTW Really, those gups are not growth airplanes they are replacements. Or didn't you get the memo?

So once again even if they were growth airplanes shouldn't they put a training program together that gets guys qualed on time or even close to on time? 57 days to get a guy trained on guppy. Really?

Ya but since the 757 pay was held back to match the guppy its fine that they are going away, because it was too important that they now pay more than a guppy than you have any QOL.

Maybe you can get a bump to guppy Captain.

Makes me think they are trying to get Den 76T guys to leave. Too expensive to bump. Maybe they think, "let's work these guys so hard they will take a bid somewhere else". Just my first thought when I heard this. I'm one of the many trying to get back to Denver. Long time reader and UAL new hire.

Hoss,

Are you still thinking bump letters in the fall?

Not as complicated as you may think. Jeff and JP were beat by the UAL MEC and Jeff lost the chance to have a friendly ALPA leader to control. For the foreseeable future he see the old UAL MEC guys controlling the union representation and wants to change it.

His vision for this move is LUAL guys flocking to DEN thinking it's our Mecca or making the flying so bad that the LUAL guys will avoid it like the plague and the LCAL moving-in in droves. Either way he weakens the west coast domiciles and puts more controllable LCAL reps in those domiciles by increasing the LCAL numbers and hoping to get a controllable MEC.

It's not growth - just a reshuffling of the cards until Jeff gets the hand he wants. In the mean time we pilots will have something to think/talk about instead of the health of the airline or Jeff.

That's the issue. No bids. CAL opened the DEN Guppy base and it went extremely junior in the bottom quarter because UAL guys couldn't bid it. Now it is fully staffed and there is no where for the UAL guys to go. I was a very senior 320 guy (April 95) and ended up going to the 400, but that was extremely rare. Most are understandably unwilling to commute, and the Guppy bids are already filled.

I think the reality is the manpower situation is so jacked up that they simply can't fly the schedule. This is a last ditch effort to make it work IMHO.
