Hell based on that staffing color by number chart they put up I expect a round of INVOLS on the 737 in IAH too.

130 displacements just in DEN alone. That's a ton of "realignment".

Haven't seen a lot of this but from my inept perspective it seems to me the people who have to really worry are those junior in the aircraft that need more people in bases where aircraft are over staffed.
First that comes to mind are the junior folks who bid 737 in DEN. Won't the majority (vast majority, who wants to commute right?) who are being displaced off the A320 and 76T in DEN bump into the 737 in DEN. The junior pilot table alone does not paint a pretty picture for the DEN 737 folks. Do I have this right? What about the IAH situation? It doesn't seem most of the IAH 737 folks will have the seniority to bump into the Bus (heresy to fly that French contraption after a Boeing anyway;). It seems the junior folks whom are almost certainly to be displaced out of IAH will likely have to go to LAX or SFO on 737 or EWR on the 320 to find a line. Certainly it seems the ORD A320 folks will gobble up whats available on the 737 in ORD along with the 75/76T folks in ORD that might see some displacements as well. EWR FO is the curious one. All this buildup and now they are overstaffed by as much as 100? Correct me if my thinking is wrong here. I'm a newbie to displacements. |
As you follow the collateral damage from DEN, seems that those junior on the 787 are pretty much the gazelles surrounded by lions.

"... In the immediate future, we plan to announce a displacement bid for DEN around the end of July, which is designed to reduce some of the largest and most costly imbalances. This displacement bid will remove a total of130 positions, which will be partially on the A320 (20 Captain positions, 50 First Officer positions) and partially on the 76T (30 Captain positions and 30 First Officer positions)." |
Thanks Taylor.

With all this movement, some of the staffing shortages will be temporarily answered accidentally because of this new ridiculous vacation policy.
The hundreds of pilots changing status will lose their vacation. Salt in the wound. |
