Default iPad Bulletin for the 747 fleet

The iPad is now authorized by bulletin for the flying guys on the 747, this should clear up any questions on how to mount it:

"Pilots at the controls should have appropriate paper charts secured in view, or immediately available while using the Jepp FliteDeck Pro in a critical phase of flight."

So what's the point? The Jepp bag is with us forever? "Immediately available" is pretty loose. Anywhere forward of the door sounds good to me.

Read a bulletin today for 756. It said the mounts would be in the next shipset, and gave detailed instructions how to use it.

What was missing were the specific words: "Effective THIS DATE, Pilots are authorized..."

Implied, but not explicit. Anyone know for sure?

And it too said "paper available." Kinda defeats the purpose.
