As far as I can ascertain, the LUAL flight attendants can drop down to virtually nothing... but still retain full benefits and travel privileges. In a way, you and I are paying for that. I'm all for flexibility, but being able to drop your month down to near zero and still maintaining full-time type benefits strikes me as unsustainable

Somewhere in the middle is where it will shake out IMO but it won't happen for another 3-5 years with all the "drama" I hear from both groups at work.

" In a way, you and I are paying for that. "
Listen up and hear clearly; do you in any way think the FAs, PAs, middle management or any other group here at UAL think we as pilots deserve what we get? "In a way they are paying for our wages and benefits."
I would stop complaining about anything the FAs have or are going to get in the next contract. They negotiated that contract, just like ALPA did, and deserve what ever it they got (or didn't get).
Remember what the wise sage said, "What goes around comes around!"

Its sad that so many of you are willing to toss others under the bus to justify your paycheck. Its a multi billion dollar operation. They can afford to pay us what we're worth. And that goes for the Flight Attendants and Mechanics too.
Across the board we all earn MUCH less than our predecessors did, and they had much better work rules AND a pension.
So now we all sing the idiotic low cost mantra to justify the cheesy operation. We take off with (sometimes) idiotic fuel loads and cook the pax at the gate. Meanwhile, we have some of the highest paid execs in the industry preaching "shared sacrifice" . Yet, they don't need labor to make this merger a success.
