Being senior on a WB is a different story.

OK, that makes sense. Thanks for the info everybody.

Second of all, this is what the GF means about the numbers not adding up.....

From United's 10K filings:

31 DEC 2007....460 mainline/279 regionals
31 DEC 2008....409 mainline/280 regionals
31 DEC 2009....360 mainline/292 regionals

United Continental Holdings, Inc. - Investor Relations - Investor Relations

So 13 RJs replaced 100 guppies?? C-mon Man? Really?

Cal said no to the merger in April 2008, UAL had 460 Mainline AC.
Cal said yes to the merger in May 2010, UAL had 360 mainline AC...
And BOY those CAL guppies sure rolled into DEN, ORD, and LAX in a HURRY. But, no. It was all just a coincidence.

But like I said, it don't matter to me. Our furloughees didn't get stapled, so percentage wise, the SLI worked out great for me.

Worked well for me as well...basically hired into Ual with a pseudo flow thru program via Skywest ..who knew flying the bro around the western half of the u.s. Would generate seniority at Momma U?
My point is..when contract 2k came out, did Ual pilots sell out their scope for big bucks or not? I was told by a Ual bus driver that scope was shoved off the table once the big dollar signs appeared. True or not?
Parking guppies to merge seems so far fetched, since I remember flying multiple 3.25 or more hour missions in the barbie jet and ken jet(700) for momma U! ORD to mso, sfo to sat? Yep, those were guppy routes right? But due to a sale of your( our now) scope, it's flown by a lower cost factor...customer comfort and loyalty? Hahaha...

Scope was sold out long before C2000. It may have been relaxed in C2000, but the camel dung was already knee deep in the tent. Whatever, its gone now and we're hooped. What matters now is the next one. I like to think that consolidation and the massive reaming pilots have taken since 911 will put us all on better footing WRT to stopping the bleeding. If our last quarters results continue, we will be spineless fools to give another inch. But that's just me and my lousy attitude.

Snapshot

How does the current snapshot look for those that started class yesterday, and for the next class on Dec 9th?

There were unfilled vacancies in LAX and SFO on the guppy, IAD on 756, IAH on 320, and EWR on guppy, bus, or 756.

Sled

You can disagree if you want to and it really does not matter just like the Cal guy that is sure his conspiracy is the truth. Fact is the Jets were parked, and the SLI is over. The reasons why and how are moot.

Say it ain't so sir James! Your attitude is spot on..."spineless fools" hopefully won't be the next sticker we put on our overnight bags! Rock on sir...my vocabulary has gone exponential since reading your posts.

Waiting in pool and trying to understand how bidding works. If I started indoc yesterday, could I have bid LAX 73 since there were 7 unfilled FO vacancies? Would I go straight to LA after training or would I have to do some time in EWR? Thanks...

worstpilotever 12-03-2014 02:33 PM

I think the bid is effective for April, so yo may have to go to EWR for a month or two after training. However, you may get activated sooner....not sure if you can get activated later. I have made two base transfers and was activated 2 or 3 months ahead of time.

A class started yesterday with 29 new hires, 8 were awarded 737EWR, the rest got A320EWR. Next class is Dec 9.
