What I don't like is when someone tries to legitimize the action. I liken this to the loss of our pensions. Legal? Yes. Legitimate? No.

Stagnating? Eh whatever, schedule and seat are fine so I don't partake in the cal post SLi bitterness. No CAL pilot I know played any part in a seat grab, but you can call us illegitimate if you wish.

So tell me, just how was a non merged L-UAL going to add upwards of 750 pilot jobs in the period Dec '10 to Sep '13 without CAL???? The point is CAL brought those jobs, and UAL folks brought the unemployed pilots ... it's very simple ... If they were your jobs & your seats, then you would be in them ... End of story. And before you start the preaching, I don't condone the company playing one group against the other ... you guys love to hide behind the merger policy change "longevity grab" ... well the same policy dictated JCBA then SLI ... that's how we got here.

Could you explain this? Wife is thinking of bidding the triple out of SFO. Want to know the gotchas other than potentially commuting before the bid closes later this week.

Sepda,

Back up a bit. Without the pre merger collusion of UAL/CAL the guppy fleet would have never been parked. 104 airplanes. That's where the jobs were.
That's why there were unemployed pilots. Connect the dots.

I'm not preaching against your three years of unfettered upgrades. I'm not preaching against the arbitrator's ruling. My complaint is with a post that characterizes a massive 11th hour bid that just beat the isl award as "legitimate."

Now you're comparing the isl to an 11th hour vacancy bid? Hopefully when we work together, we just laugh, enjoy a very good beer, and keep our mouths shut.

OMG, this is ridiculous. Not a single post goes by where some L-UAL and L-CAL guy(s) don't end up in an appendage sword fight. These are almost as productive as internet-based Ferguson discussions.
