I sent it to ALPA's Pass Travel Committee last night. Now we wait and see.

Default Unfortunately....

Got a reply from ALPA. Company followed the contract and notified ALPA for comments. ALPA objected. Company went ahead anyway.

ALPA said no grounds to challenge it.

Well, that's how you read a contract. They "advised," we "conferred," they said "get lost." Maybe next time it will be written that "no changes shall be made without Union approval."

21-E-1 Company personal pass travel policies shall apply to pilots and shall not be changed or discontinued during the term of this Agreement without first advising the Association the reason therefore and affording the Association an opportunity to confer with the Company.

Given that the company makes money off of a seat which would have otherwise generated zero revenue, and given that they are hellbent to maximize ancillary revenue everywhere else, and given that they are getting their clocks cleaned by DAL and likely will soon by AAL, I would think that a sure bet for additional success would be to ensure the that worker bees are happy. Happy employees tend to ensure happy customers. Yet, in this instance where point zero three percent of us are losers they're going to whack us all. Even though they made money off those losers.

Instead, they board new hire low level managers in front of 25 year front line employees and treat our benefits and contract like so much chaff whenever possible. Anyone been denied a meal expense lately? Control must be absolute! Que Dr Strangelove..."Mein Fuhrer!"

They seem know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Not sure who coined that phrase, but it seems apropos.

Bewildered and disappointed. Again.

Since this Buddy pass change is related to Fraud? The simple solution would be to FIRE those perpetrating the fraud. PMUA would tolerate Just about anything with the exception of one thing. Theft! Why not make it easier for the REST of us and just make the perps repay the Fraudulent passes at Full fare or Just Fire them outright?!? NO CBA should protect Theft or Fraud. If 99% uf us follow the rules? Then the 1% who don't? Need to work somewhere Else.

This solution is less costly than tracking down fraudulent pass usage and firing those employees. I'm going to guess that it's extremely expensive to prove fraud except in the most flagrant cases.
