My thoughts exactly.

I remember seeing a couple dozen turboprops parked on the old ramp in SGF about 20 years from some commuter that had transitioned to RJs. Van driver said he overheard that the bean counters had determined that was the cheapest ramp space available which also had the highest likelihood of tornado/hail damage. They were just waiting it out and hoping for an insurance claim.

I'd be sweating bullets if I was AA's insurance company. A lot tougher to prove insurance fraud for a tornado than say, an intentionally set fire.

You don’t understand, decades ago Bob Crandall foresaw COVID19 and strategically placed the MX facility in the path of tornadoes so that the fleet would be destroyed with expectations to be reimbursed like you would on your auto policy.

I’d be a tad nervous about that given the way all of our luck has been going lately.
Golf ball physics! Little hail dents will make them .02 more fuel efficient.

Aren’t most aircraft self insured by the company?

Something about laminar flow...Aero301.

Why does a golf ball have dimples?

To make it hard for you to put your special mark on your balls.

My best guess is that golf balls have dimples to keep them from flying straight. And once they land out of bounds the dimples assist the the ball in stopping in the most dense and difficult underbrush with A tree directly between it and the fairway.

Best golf post of the month. Thanks for the chuckle as I longingly look out over the 5th fairway, with an injured hand.

don’t let that stop you. One of my golf buddies blew his hand off in middle school making improvised fireworks (bad deal obviously) but we played on the high school golf team and basketball beyond high school. Even with one hand he has a great swing and an excellent golfer.
