Now we just need about 20 777-X's to fill out the 747 replacements. I still don't know if we will ever see the A350's.

Now, we could also probably get a very good deal on a dozen 747-8's for those few routes that size would work well. Maybe take 747-400's in trade. We usually give our old stuff to FedEx for a great deal, maybe they would want those.

High density Asia flying from Guam? We can't even fill a guppy 7 days a week from HKG.

Yep. LAX/SFO - SYD = 4 frames
SFO/ORD - HKG = 4 frames
+2 spares

Perfect aircraft for those flights.

would speculate we would use them on EWR HKG before SFO HKG, but maybe that would cover all 10

The only problem with EWR is rotation of aircraft in a small fleet. ORD needs the 300ER because the UA 200ER are restricted on some days where as the CO 200ER do pretty well (From what I'm told) on EWR - HKG. You could use the other two aircraft for EWR - HKG but that would leave no fleet flexibility 1 CX or long delay would cause a sever downline problem to the operation and the 100+ pax that can not fit on a 200ER.

Route the 100 + pax via NRT and connect them to onward destination via the ANA JV could be a risk they are willing to take?

For 1. I think HKG - NRT is a 737 these days.

2. Why would they do that to themselves..........I'm not holding my breath for a smart decision......
