Thanks, Lazarus

Appreciate the details. I was kind of hoping for a break on the 737, we will see if that keeps up!

Looking for any current words on the 737 training pipeline from the last few rounds of classes. Thanks in advance.

I'm about to start 737 training. What did you want to know?

Timing between BI and IAH, any delays with the large numbers of new hires heading that way?
Schedule once there: days on/off? Weekends?
Anyone going somewhere besides IAH? My offer letter mentioned possibility of some MIA.
Anything a newbie might find insightful.
Thanks.

Sadly, anything schedule gouge you think you might receive is essentially useless. You'll receive your training schedule during indoc and even that can change significantly after you start. The training schedule is basically the "needs of the organization." That's why guys in the same indoc class will have anywhere from a few days to a few weeks off between indoc and aircraft training.

Just expect a basic 5-on/2-off footprint and even then things can get shifted around for sim availability and offsite training.

How do they determine who gets the training that begins in a few days versus who gets the training that begins in a few weeks?

Random chance. If you need a specific day off or prefer a quick or delayed start, talk to one of your indoc facilitators in the first few days at TK and they can give you an email to the training scheduler who may be able to grant your request, if it doesn't conflict with the company's needs.

This is right. My class had anywhere from 4 days to 2 weeks off but it seems like it is always different. Sorry, no set answer.

I had 18 days between BI and 737s. Lots of people going to MIA for part of the training. You'll be 5 on, 2 off based on whatever day of the week you start. Positive space home and back on your days off. Sims start at 0400, 0800, 1200, 1600, and 2000. Your start times may vary every day and every week.

You'll have the same sim partner the whole time. It may be an upgrading capt or an FO.

Do all the CBTs before you get there.

I had two days. Enough time to travel home, pack and travel to IAH. Didn't have any time for CBTS, SC questions, flows or anything else. But you can get caught up. Did see another that had one day shy of three weeks off. I was pretty envious, especially since it was paid and counts towards your probation.
