A freak show because an award created by ESPN was broadcast on ABC?
(actually not that strange - Disney/Hearst owns it all!)
So yeah, the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
Arthur Ashe:
Ashe accomplished a lot in the face of adversity, no doubt.
Incidentally, 4 passenger on 911 Flight 93 were awarded the ESPY Arthur Ashe Courage Award in 2002.
It's sad to see Ashe's accomplishments be used for an agenda, and the Medal of Freedom's value erroded by Cosby (how many Ruffies can you put in a Jello Pudding Pop?). Much has been written about Disney's gayification of America and this appears to fit with that agenda.

Arthur Ashe:
- Army Officer, led West Point's Tennis program
- Only black man to win a tennis singles match at Wimbleton, US Open, or the Australian Open.
- Contracted HIV from a blood transfusion and worked to dispel the idea that HIV was a "gay" only disease.
- Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Arthur Ashe was not a West Point graduate. He was ROTC at UCLA.
