Default IAH hotels for training

I was recently asked about hotels in IAH that I could not answer.

For those who are on longer training in IAH, I'm told there are two hotels being used, a Sheraton off the end of runways 15L/R and the airport Marriott between the concourses.

For those who are more experienced here, any thoughts on the better of the two hotels? (Noise, transportation to training, etc.)

The Sheraton is the better option for food, beverages, and generally not being in an airport. That being said, if you include all IAH terminal F&B options, the Marriott statistically comes out on top. I
I am wrapping up 5 weeks of IAH training and would have killed myself long ago had I been at the airport Marriott for the duration.
Sheraton FTW!

For those at the Marriott for the duration: get Marriott Gold status by any means possible (hint: Ritz-Carlton Visa card). BUT....last time I was there, the Marriott was undergoing renovations and folks were pretty much being housed out at the Sheraton.
