Well, you just did.

What a pukefest. I hurl in your general direction. First off, no scab is ever in good standing until they're dead. You make less today, and with lousier work rules because of what they did, then. And while they may technically be able to wear a pin, and now pay dues, they made their bed long ago with Frank Lorenzo.

Keep on enabling them. They love it.

Some of you guys miss the point. The Lorenzo SCABS actually stole jobs from working pilots trying to feed, educate and house their families. The Ferris scabs were trying to do the same a short time later at United.

Many of you guys defending SCABS have no idea the impact their actions have on working environments or the effects it has when you can't pay the rent or put food on the table. It's no different than the treatment a rapist or child molester gets. You can't trust them, you don't like them and you definitely don't socialise with them but you have to proceed with caution. You can't harm them unless you're willing to go to jail or lose your job. What you do and how you treat them depends on how much you want to protect your family and your job.

Slight correction, Mako:

Death does not exonerate them.

Still guilty.

If they aren't in good standing till dead, why is ALPA sending them 30 year pins?

Nobody is defending scabs here but our ALPA is, by them being in the union wearing a pin and in good standing. Do you not recognize or want to admit the facts. ALPA would do anything for a buck and all most everybody has felt short changed at onetime or another. Would a in house Union be so bad?

The simple answer is you let them back in when you applied to have ALPA certified as your representive body. Remember that?

You're missing my point. Yes, in the eyes of us ALPA members they are pretty low life for what they did, but what did "the system" do to punish them for what they did?

Yes, this.

What would have had ALPA do? The CAL pilots asked for ALPA representation and it was the CAL pilots that made the decision to declare their SCABS were in good standing. You can't blame ALPA - it's the responsibility of the local MEC.

The CAL pilots had an in-house Union for years after the strike. Over the past 5 years untold time and money have been spent trying to correct the errors of an uncontrolled Union and a management that imposed their will without consideration of their contract. We still see this through the number of greviences and a management not willing to honor our contract. I'll stay with ALPA.
