Default Commutair United Career Path Program

The United Career Path Program (CPP) is designed to identify talented CommutAir pilots and place them on a clear and reliable path to a United Airlines flight deck. Participants who successfully meet Program Criteria will be offered conditional employment as a United Airlines pilot at the earliest available opportunity, subject to all Program requirements and limitations.

- You must have flown either 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command or 3,000 hours total in service to CommutAir.
- You must complete at least one initial qualification evaluation and one continuing qualification evaluation at CommutAir.
-You must remain in continued compliance with the eligibility requirements listed above.
- You must complete any professional development activities required by CommutAir and United Airlines.
- You must meet United Airlines new hire pilot minimum qualifications.
- You must satisfactorily complete other customary United pre-employment screening requirements like a background investigation and drug screening test.
- You will not need to complete another interview or be subject to other elements of United’s traditional pilot selection processes.

CommutAir To Grow And Add Jets Under United Express Agreement -- SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt., Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt., Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CommutAir announced today that it has reached an agreement with United Airlines to significantly increase the number of airplanes flown under the United Express brand by adding Embraer E145 jet operations to the company's existing fleet of Bombardier turbo-prop aircraft. The agreement is subject to government approval.

Also pursuant to this agreement, CommutAir will implement a "Career Path Program" (CPP) for participating pilots. The program offers pilots the option to transition from CommutAir to United after certain requirements are met, including various service, performance record and accumulated flight hours requirements.

Pursuant to the currently anticipated fleet plan, the first Embraer E145 aircraft is expected to enter service in April 2016, and the fleet size and routes flown will grow through the addition of 40 Embraer E145 aircraft. Employee recruiting and FAA processes are already underway.

"This is a wonderful and attractive opportunity for CommutAir" said John Sullivan, Chairman of CommutAir. "In conjunction with this exciting growth plan, we will be implementing a program that offers a clear career path option to participating pilots. I appreciate working with United in offering more opportunities for our pilots and all of our employees," he added.

CommutAir's adoption of the CPP will be a special feature of the United Express agreement.

Will enable qualified pilot applicants to opt into the CPP at the time of joining CommutAir and then seamlessly move to United after the applicable requirements are met.
CommutAir's planned growth will provide opportunities for promotions to Captain at CommutAir.

The company has changed it's mind on trying for a contract extension?

seeing how those planes are to be sourced from ExpressJet, guessing its just a shuffling of the flying. So not necessarily reflective of extensions or not or scope choke etc....

According to the CommutAir website, you still have to pass the Hogan test.

What SkyWest, Inc had planned for us all along- cease operations at midnight on December 31, 2017.

I'm sorry to see my alma mater and wonderful prior colleagues at Expressjet continue to suffer. The whip sawing and race to the bottom made me sick while I was there and continues to do so, even though I have moved on to United. It was once a good company and great place to work. If anyone deserves a career path program to United I would start with them.
