So what sorts of improvements on Reserve were folks hoping for? I don't have much of a frame of reference. I flew on Reserve a lot last summer, no surprise. Come September, I flew two out and back trips but got paid 80 hours because I volunteered for a bunch of ultimately unused SC/FSBs. Nice surprise, me likey getting paid extra to sit. I'm sure improvements can be made, but don't know what the rub is.

My very rookie status/experience/bar napkin math tells me if they get the 117/FRMS relieve then by default that relieves their need for SC abuses on the global guys. It's not like they want to shell out money for unused short calls.

I take it you aren't global reserve. I am, and had my days off rolled every other week this summer! And when they do you aren't even paid anything for it!

On a side note, my reserve QOL the last few months has been fantastic. I fly 1 trip a month. Might be mostly the reduced schedule and large supply of reserves. Might also be the temporary side effect of combining the 756 and 76t fleets. Anyway it proves reserve here can be good, but it can also be an absolute nightmare. Seems all related to staffing. I just want to keep the nightmare of this summer from ever reoccurring!

- all unused SCs need to have add pay - five hours credit for an FSB - no rationale for min reserve levels; set so high no drops are allowed - ability to drop and trade reserve days in CCS, reserve levels permitting - ability to check in/acknowledge SCs and FSBs on CCS - min days off match SWA of 15/16 days offs - match SWA min guarantee pay of 79 hours - monthly schedule frozen from scheduling's changing it; no rolled days off - FC DH travel - IT solution to provide automatic FC DH travel seat assignments - delete 20-K-6-f. I.e., no "double pumps" (SC in a.m., released to p.m. trip) Lots more but it's late |
If there is not a max cap on Shortcalls and FSBs then I don't care how much they want to pay me.
They also need to stop building SC at 2358 and assigning them at 2359, just so they can avoid the sitting of 2 SC in 1 day rule by a minute. A reserve period is 14hrs not sit until the company calls you to give you tomorrow's reserve period. We'll see y'all in May if what was posted is true this is going to fail by a wide margin. |

What happened to improving reserve. Hopefully when we get the official word it will include that.
