Squirrel away some serious nuts to prepare for what's coming, and make the furloughees whole. Two birds. One stone... A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush. ;) Voting YES. Tomorrow.

The "bird in the hand" was a favorite of Pol Pot but he was also fond of saying "The sick are victims of their own imagination".

Voting NO - not selfish - It's just the right thing to do. For the guys not falling along the legacy lines this TA is selling your future for the sake of a short term gain of the greedy. If you can vote, vote NO to improve your future prospects.

So Donald J Nostradamus, do I need to start prepping?

If you haven't started prepping by now you are in deep trouble!

Regarding the TA Vote for you YES voters: I've been reading forum comments on both APC and the UAL Pilots Forum and based on the Cyber Bullies who flourish these forums I've come up with the TOP reasons why voting YES is wrong. Just curious which camp you fall under?

A) Are you a Management Mole
B) Money Grubber
C) Scab or Scablike
D) Stupid
E) All the above

You can put me down in the camp of thinking many have been beaten down so much over the past 13 yrs that they are always looking for the boogie man around the corner and will take any table scraps offered.

Long term, as in Delta will always be at least one contract ahead of us. For those who have 20+ years left, that's a lot more than a guppy capt's $120k plus his compounding.

I don't understand this. We will be ahead of them in pay rates, pretty equal in profit sharing, better in 401k (while only 1%), better vacation accrual and we have a lot more international widebody top $$ paying flying.

Their sick time is definitely superior but I fail to see how we won't be industry leading with this, would you elaborate for me your thoughts? Thanks

Yes, we'll be industry leading in pay. Delta's contract cycle going forward will be 2.5 yrs or better ahead of us. They are negotiating during the most profitable time in airline history so it goes without saying that their total contractual improvement will be well above our 15-0-2 pay bump. It's that Delta difference that I'm considering playing out for many contracts in the future.

One man's chicken is another mans tuna. It is pretty close as you slice it and dice it.
