Can't buy into that because it would be cheaper to stager the other employee groups than the pilots.

A big part of the problem is the FAs. It's not that the company doesn't want a new FA contract; the problem is that there are many FAs perfectly happy working without a postmerger contract.

I can agree with that. I see that as the inability of the F/A leaders of both sides not willing to do the right thing for all F/A's.

We see that at our MEC level as well. With one side crowing that they forced a membership vote for this TA along legacy lines. Even posted the vote division on this and the pay web site as well.

There is a big push in the upcoming MEC Chairman election for a Pierce type MEC chairman. The company may be trying to delay contract just to gain favorable leadership at the MEC. Added a little low hanging fruit as a kicker.

The FAs from both legacy airlines are so far apart its not even funny… the only way this will be fixed is in arbitration with both FA union negotiators, the company, and the arbitrators… and Yes, the LCAL flight attendants are happy with status quo… because they are a lot junior group and flying the cream of the crop international trips right out of training while the LUAL flight attendants options are dwindling and getting pushed to reserve domestic...

Considering your comments, you'd think the company would want solve that problem first. We are around 6 years into this merger and instead of leading the F/A's to an agreement they'd rather continue to support one group at the expense of the other. If the company wouldn't stir the pot this would have been fixed some time ago. We could probable agree on the motives of the company. Where's Oscar - the savior?

The F/As haven't led themselves to an agreement.

The only way they are flying "cream of the crop" trips is because they got called out as a reserve. My friend's daughter finished FA training in October and she is a DEEP reserve.

I flew a 777C model the other day to/from FRA/EWR and half the FAs were very young… maybe they were on RSV as you say. You don't see that very often on the 777A/B models with LUAL FAs.

If it was the other day, I'm guessing they were reserves due to the senior ones having vacation, being able to bid it off, catching a cold to be home during the holidays, etc etc.

I believe they get paid double to fly on holidays. Or at least some premium. I doubt a FRA trip would go to a reserve on a holiday unless IROPs happened.

It looks like Flight Ops figured that was a good idea. CCS front page showed premium pay for all 320 and 737 the last few days, over the New Year.
