I also took out a big ass loan to pay for flight training, Daddy didn't pay for that either. I went from 0 time to CFII in 6 months, again, because that was all I could afford. No calls from any majors yet. I have had my apps in for 2 years. |

Good work, but you didn't mention how many hours and what have you been doing since. Do you have true Captain time, turbine, regional, check airman, instructor for more than an FBO or any other leadership roles? Qualifications are a progression with age and when you got your ATP, but good on you for getting the degree and flight time. |

I WAS offended by a DAL recruiter, after telling me how he worked his way through college over an 8 year period ask me why I didn't finish in 4. (Hint: I worked my way through college after getting my AA, and was flying for a regional) Worked out pretty well for me, but odd how the line I have been hearing since 2001 was "any degree, from any college" and now some places are starting to get a bit 'snobbish' |
I took 5 1/2 years to complete my 4 year degree.
At age 20 I became a CFI and was flight instructing part-time and was a full time college student. In my 4th year of college I got a Part 135 right-seat job in LearJets 24/25, with 1200tt and completed the next 3 courses one semester at a time. Is the above explanation good enough for DAL, FDX? |

The whole 5.5 year thing at Delta is the most asinine short sighted policy I've ever heard of. Who ever thought of that over at big D should get a stupid trophy.
