I'm thinking about getting a couple of additional ratings this month but am tentatively scheduled for the 23 Aug indoc class. Does anyone know if there would there be any issues with me showing up to training with a temporary (paper) certificate vs the permanent card?
Or should I just not bother and wait until after probation is done? Thanks.

I see nothing wrong with a Temp. I think the bigger question is do you want to risk showing up for training with a fresh pink slip... Without knowing your situation, about the only reason I could see for doing this at the last minute is due to missing the deadline for the ATP. (Knowledge test expiring)

This. Don't go there. I would stay the hell away from GA until after probation. Got a buddy who won't be going to his legacy class date because of some issues with a private pilot's Mx records on a cessna. He just went for an airplane ride, but because he has an ATP and does an online FIRC every two years he's being held accountable by the FSDO.

Can't imagine showing up with a temp will be an issue. The United folks aren't looking for reasons to kick you out of class. That being said, just lay low until you're out of training.
I don't think you have to wait a whole year but it's always better to not be the squeaky wheel on probation. Also don't burn yourself out right before training.

I'm guessing you wanted to add the Mil Equivalency IP, and your 1-year online tutorial from Sheppard Air is about to expire.....
Just wait, is my $0.02, as the others have said. Welcome aboard.

Actually was just looking to add SE to my CFI certificate but need to do either an ATP SEL or Comm SEL first (definitely doing the ATP since the checkride is much easier). I did the mil comp to get my CFI but only got the IA since I'm all centerline multi engine time. So then I did a practical after my ME ATP to get my MEI. But after all is said and done I still only have private privileges on my SEL. I'm just looking to round out the ratings and have a pretty good setup with a local school and their DPE. But I think I'll just wait - no real reason to risk the long term career, right?
Thanks again and thanks for the welcomes.
