Hi Guys,

Greetings! I am new to APC forums and would request some latest info about United hiring. I am currently an A330 F/O at Etihad and looking to return to the US. I don't have any Jet PIC time, however have A320 and A330 SIC time & a total of 7 Thousand hours. If I send my app to United, can I expect a call from them or do they prefer guys with mostly PIC time? Any info would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

All I can promise you is that you won't get a call if you don't submit. I have multiple military friends with thousands of pic turbine that are waiting for a call.
Submit your app and see what happens.

Doesn't hurt to apply. None of us can tell you who they are looking for when it comes to flight time. Just fill out the app and wait. Good luck.

Has anybody got the invite for the August 23rd class yet? I'm impatiently waiting! Haha

I was United I would hire every one of the ME3 carriers pilots that want to come work here, just to give them a serious manning issue.

I would imagine it would be a temporary problem at best for the ME3. All they need to do is lower mins even further or just start throwing a ton of money at a signing bonus and that should help mitigate the loss of a few hundred pilots.

There's quite a shortage of Pilots here at the ME3. Also most of us Americans are looking to come back to the US. Recently a buddy of mine at Emirates told me that they are now hiring CRJ and prop guys into the right seat of the A380. So a bunch of US Regional guys have applied apparently. Don't know what impact that will have in the US.

None is my guess.

What's the penalty for breaking a contract with one of the ME3? Do they differ? How long are the contracts?

ME3 gut US carriers' regional feed, US carriers gut ME3 ranks by bringing same pilots back on mainline side. ME3 inadvertently solve US' 20-year-old B-scale problem?
