Good to hear. Westin is fine by me...clean rooms, close to all the good casinos, and $1 PBRs at the Stage Door. Have avoided the Jaeger shots.

Never been to Vegas have you...
Yea the SLS is not in the best part of town. The old Sahara...plenty nearby however. You want the best Thai food restaurant in the country, Lotus of Siam on Sahara! Just about walking distance. Very short cab ride. Just don't judge a book by its cover, if you just look at the outside of the restaurant you'd never go in.

The Italian restaurant (forget the name) next to Stage Door is really good too. Not cheap but free wine with your meal so overall a good deal.

Had my first stay at the SLS last trip. Car alarms went off in the parking lot three times in the middle of the night, non-airline guests laughing at shouting in the hallway at 730am, basically usesless internet connection (had to tether my phone to file a PDR).

I was not impressed. Awful location. Mediocre room. You can tell just walking around that you're in the low rent district. Highly disappointed. Weston is 1000x better.

It's named Batista's Hole in the Wall. An icon from the rat pack era. A bit more touristy now, but still worth the trip because the food remains, from what I remember, very good. It's been a few years for me, though.
