It'd be nice if it happens. But don't bet the farm on it. As with any and all future predictions in life or business.

I think the domestic market is going to be over saturated with all the lcc's taking 300 large midsize aircraft all within the next 3 years. They are planning on pushing into the legacies market to stay profitable. We either give them market share or fight back. Staying the same size is almost as dumb as shrinking to profitability. We either protect our market with frequency and new markets or we let them establish big networks. Lean times are ahead for lcc's and domestic travel in general.

I suspect with 65 more 700's coming, the max, and the addition of Andrew Levy (and his ULCC experience)... UAL is positioning to put the hurt on them.

Andrew Levy Named CFO at United Continental -

You can make a better guess as to the size of the airline between now and 2020. Oh and Oscar said we need to keep capacity below GDP. We would need a pretty significant change in GDP to support such a large fleet. I wish the LCA lemons would have called them out on that contradiction.
Now that you guys have CFO from Allegiant, they may be able to stretch airplanes out to 45 year life span
