Default Psych Test for Pilot Candidates

I'm trying to get prepared for that psych test UA gives you before they call you in for an interview. It's the Hogan, right? Is it the Hogan Personality Index or another one of their tests? I'm trying to get any prep materials on it that I can, so I want to know the exact one I need to prep for. Any other advice would be appreciated!

Be yourself, answer and be brutally honest. Don't answer what you think they want to hear.....

Plain and simple. Good luck.

This is more aimed at a crowd than at you so do 't take it wrong. The whole idea is to see (albeit through a BS test) what you are made of and see if you fit their "type". So practicing the test, well, pointless and kind of fake. I can't help but think of the guys I interviewed when I was on the CA board who put on a good front and then after being hired did everything from ***** about wearing a hat to refuse to follow SOP. Just take the test and let your true colors show up. If you need to fake it to get hired, maybe you wouldn't be happy there anyway.

Hat to SOP? As long as you follow SOP, are a good stick and make me laugh you can wear a burger king crown for all I care. We are pilots for God sakes, not Versace models.

"not Versace models."

Speak for yourself!

"I'm too sexy for my car, too sexy by far."

Thanks a lot. Now I've got that song stuck in my head. As a side note, I wonder if being a Metrosexual is a plus or minus these days in the hiring process.

I sometimes, almost never, always, occasionally, often say what I think they expect that I might have once thought about, but never really that often meant to say--but I could be wrong.

I think I could pass it---

I know this is anecdotal, but I fly with a lot of new hire f/o's and I'm pretty sure the interviewers give extra points for not having a full head of hair -- you know, that UFC cage match look.

Sure.

If you think you need to study for a personality test you should.....

Oh never mind.

There is a United thread a ways down called "United Hogan Assessment"

See my posts towards the end

Its a very straightforward test, all true/false and your first thought after reading the questions is probably correct... as long as you answer truthfully, don't worry about what you think United wants to hear...
