I tell my Air Force buddies looking to separate that if being domiciled in DEN is of great importance to them for their career, don't choose UAL...go SWA, period. As others have mentioned, there is ZERO wb flying in DEN, and although there is some marginal nb growth as we bring some regional flying back in house, it's quite tame compared to other bases in the system. DEN is a junior base for SWA. People may get to DEN within two years or so, but they will be on RSV for a LONG time.

Anyway to look up the most junior person at DENTK? Just wondering what the timeline is to be an instructor there.

It's not a seniority bid position, you have to interview and be hired, so just submit an application if you're interested. Once you're hired you bid schedules based on seniority.

Den is still Phat City. Have not got a call yet this month. But the yard, fence, sprinkler system, and garage are all tip top. Now if ski season would just get here!

Some perspective from the SWA side....Took me 6 mos to hold DEN. Guys after me were getting it in 3-4 mos. Spent 3 mos on RSV and now holding a relief/composite/blank line. It's also one of the jr bases for CA's.

No WB for UAL in DEN and better QOL at SWA is what caused me to cx my UAL interview. YMMV

Bid into DEN last December, held a line on the Bus right after OE and ever since. Senior Denver Bus FOs bid reserve for days off ability.

I personally like having options, such as once the kids leave home, I can bid for a west coast wide body and have 787/777, A-350 CA to look forward to one day. Commuting is a pain, but with a 10-12 day WB monthly schedule and the pay that comes with it......well, nice to have the option to leave the 3 leg a day NB flying for a while.

Not to mention the benefit of living near the training center for easy sim support pickups. That's easy money right there.
