About 6 months ago I bought the Clarity Aloft Pro (TSO'ed). I find this headset comfortable to wear for hours on end. It's not ANR but the decibel reduction is significant. One of the nice things is that you can wear it no matter what headset the other guy is wearing. They wear an ANR headset? No problem, just put in both ear plugs and go hot-mic. If the other guy uses an earpiece I just leave one earplug out. The headset is a little pricey but I wish I had bought it years ago. I love it.

Been using U-FLy for 11 years....Have never had a problem. I use overhead speaker as backup if battery is getting low. I'm left it in the case only during line checks and sometimes the LCA has a Ufly as well. I love it!!

BTW - Works great on 73 & 75/76.

Telex 850 is what I use in the 737. No batteries, decent ANR, and feather light.

I rarely see pilots using them here, don't know why.. they were very popular on the RJs.

I'll second the David Clark Pro X with ANR. I just bought it after 6 months of trying the earpiece/boom setup and I had a noticeable difference of ringing in my left ear from the noise and shouting match. The David Clark is comfortable on long flights, and reduces noise enough to even let me hear the earpiece guys talking to me without having to take the left ear side off. All the SWA and most of the AA 737 guys use headsets, and for good reason. I just wish I had bought the headset when I first started. I'm honestly kind of surprised new guys aren't being told to use headsets because the 73 veterans with the boom seem to have hearing trouble, and they encouraged me to get a headset while I had hearing left.

And lastly, .88M of "WHAAAT?" I'm not sure if they killed my hearing, or my Klipsch did.

The DC Pro X has saved my bacon. I have lost most of my hearing to hunting, Motley Crue concerts, garage bands, and the J-31. Not to mention the B727. The DC Pro X is the bomb. Love it.

So just to get this straight... The uber guppy has a tiny cramped flight deck, it can't climb, it's altitude limited, it's a ground loving pig, it has tiny little Barby Doll brakes and reversers, it comes across the fence at F-104 flaps up speeds AND you need an ANR headset to keep from going deaf when flying it? Just one more time please, will somebody explain to me how Boeing is getting away with producing this over stretched, under winged, under powered squat geared, cramped, 1956 designed flight deck, POS of an airplane?

So....what's your point? :D

Why do you rant about the obvious? Boeing would not make the airplane if it weren't for those who were convinced it was worth buying in spite of its flaws.

We just fly them, we didn't order them and if you don't want to fly them at UAL there are other fleets and seats to bid.
