Default New Hire training and pay

How long does new hire training last? How are new hires paid before start of IOE?

Thanks,

Joe

3 hours per day from day 1 (90 hours a month). Usually 6 weeks. Start of IOE is very fluid could be couple of days to weeks. Per diem 24/7.

Approximately $9600 month. It's a pay cut when you get to the line. Hotel is provided throughout training and there are some rules to getting one while doing IOE

Sort of true. During Indoc 11 total days you are paid 3 hrs a day. Same for your qual course. However if you get 3 weeks off you are not paid 3 hrs a day, you fall to the monthly guarantee, which is 70 hrs and is running in the background. You will get the greater of 3 hrs a day in training or monthly guarantee about 2.3 hrs a day but not a combination of both. New pay document in content locker communication tab explains this.

Thanks

Went through in '13. I had two days off between Indoc and aircraft training. I also started on the 3rd of month so I didn't think about what would happen if you started mid month.

Wow! Things have definitely improved! We did not get hotel rooms or any kind of housing paid for back in the day. I was barely making $9600 a month as an A-320 captain on reserve at 11 year pay back in 2008!

That is awesome.

The last few years have been impressive.

I think we have the best first year compensation in the industry right now.

As a new hire at Jetblue I got 2500/ month and a hotel. I am not saying that everything is great but it's definitely trending in the right direction.

We definitely have one of the most lucrative contracts for new hires. In 2014, I went to the line on reserve and took a $2000/month pay cut.
