Dropping trips / reserve?

Guy gets eaten alive by some Brownies for simply asking about the prospects of working a reduced schedule and QOL.... FedEx guy replies in kind. Says everything you need to know about some of our toxicity...for what it’s worth, my first year and a half at Brown I’ve had more weekends- holidays off than my COMBINED 11 years prior 121. I block about 1/3 the flight time and make twice+ the money. 99 percent of our guys/ladies are awesome to work with. It’s not a bad place to be and there’s a lot info on here; you’ll have to read thru the negativity and take it with a grain of salt... this place is just naturally a little more “gritty” than fedex - for some people, myself included that’s a better fit anyhow. Good luck!

Par for the course at this place. Cracks me up to see all the pro contract chest thumpers on the BG now whining about how bad the lines are in 18-02. Maybe the IPA can send out a survey on how great people think the contract is now and if they would vote yes again. I doubt that we will see a survey like this, buyers remorse on the line is quite high!

Also, many of us here on apc have been trying to help out brown-wannabes for a long time. Some of them have been trying to get hired here for many years in fact. So I can see how the OP's question might've been misconstrued..
The very honest, and absolutely harmless, wish of "Retiring to SDF area for family so it would be great to make Brown work, unless I’m stuck on the road too much to enjoy young kids" somehow turned into "..I want a part time job for part time pay.."
Hopefully we'll hire plenty of people next year and ALL the poolies AND longterm hopefuls AS WELL AS those who just applied will be able to join us.
I wish every prospective brownie a Very Happy New Year.

After following this whole thread, from inception thru post #33, and with no dog at all in this fight, I can see where it would be easy for a management type to interpret the original posters' comment as suggesting that he's looking for a part time job. I would imagine that knowing that, the hiring folks, both at UPS as well as FedEx, or any other airline, for that matter, would no longer be interested in that individual.
