"The pledge addresses three strategic areas: aircraft fleet, aircraft weight and aviation procedures. In 2016, UPS ordered 14 new 747-8 freighters, with an option to purchase 14 more. UPS says that the new aircraft produce 16 percent fewer pollutants than the 747-400Fs that they are replacing. UPS is also launching a fuel management software solution that provides enhanced analytics and visibility of fuel consumption."

Hopefully this is a mis quote or typo from Air Cargo News. It states the 748 are replacing the 744's....

If I'm not mistaken those JAL 767's are going to Singapore for the conversion. We had two maintenance reps on board a few weeks ago on their way back from SIN who were in charge of those 3 JAL conversions. The rumor that the lower cargo doors are to small to hold our cans is true. So the lowers on those 3 a/c will go empty on revenue US flights....or they will send them to CGN to fly out of there where I'm told that their are some cans that will fit through those oddball doors over there. None the less those lower doors will not be getting changed out.
