Default Retired UPS pilots over age 70?

Will someone please bust this myth for me: Had a UPS jumpseater last week tell me that currently there are no retired UPS pilots over the age of 70! This can't be true, can it?

Probably not a whole lot, but not for the reasons he or she was implying. It is a small airline that just hit 30 years old. The big wave of retirements is just getting started. You will die young living an unhealthy sedentary lifestyle at any airline. Senior pilots at UPS take two months off, live a low stress lifestyle, and only fly nights if they choose - they can blame the back side of the clock, but my money is on the burgers they eat as a bedtime snack.

Not even close to true. We used to have engineers older than that flying.

I'm 74 and not dead yet. Though I'll confess I thought I was dying this morning on my 14th pull-up. Couldn't get to 15.

False...
Even years ago had a 70+ retired dc-8 Capt, that become a sim instructor back when the dc-8 was still flying...he regularly commuted on my 135 cargo flight...he kept his flight status as a FE....

Maybe you can work up to number 15 by the time you turn 75... quite a feet my friend. Congrats on winning the game!!!
