Congrats on making it this far. Unfortunately, due to UPS not using a competitive pool and not a first in first out pool system, others’ experience may have little bearing on your swim time. If you stand out compared to your fellow swimmers, you will be in class within a couple months. If you barely made it into the pool, it could be awhile. Moral of the story, keep applying elsewhere and hopefully you get a class date before we lose you to someone else.

As has been stated elsewhere, HR doesn’t keep line pilots in that loop. However, there are 185 vacancies to fill through hiring after the last bid. Caveat that with a training max throughput of around 300/year which we haven’t hit yet. We are expecting another system bid around June to backfill for retirements and growth. Long story short management’s numbers show a need to already be at 3100 pilots. That said we have historically run very lean.
