Welcome to UPS the last trucking company you’ll ever fly for.:D

DSflyer05 02-08-2020 04:02 AM

I started a little WhatsApp group for those in the April 7 class. If anyone feels like joining, shoot me a PM.

Section Eight 02-08-2020 08:25 PM

Congrats to all those that are in the upcoming classes. A word of caution....

we have canceled classes before and our benevolent employer has called people on a Friday to cancel a class on Monday (true statement)

So, with all going on in China I urge you to tread carefully. within the confines of your current CBA or employment guidelines, hang tight to your current deal as long as you can.

i hope I’m wrong, but this is way different from Swine, Bird, SARS, and MERS thus far.

They will not hesitate to call you on Friday and tell you that Monday has been postponed...with no timeframe.

i have no intel, and no reason to believe that a class will not continue as planned, but they’ve done it before, and for far less reasons than what’s going on in the current environment.

this is just my opinion, and it’s Worth what you paid for it...

carry on....

The 2015 debacle was really close to 2 weeks notice and precipitated by a company wide hiring freeze. To what incident are you referring?

767pilot 02-10-2020 01:10 PM

Eight's right.
You don't work here until you work here. Regardless of any world situation, I wouldn't give notice before you had to.

Congrats everyone!

I'm one of those aviators that reads but never posts here. I just got the call about a class date for April 6th! I guess that means that April 7th will likely be for the 75/76 and bus? Congrats again everyone!

I just got the CJO for April 6th too! :D

767pilot 02-12-2020 11:21 AM

Do you guys have heavy experience that would make them more likely to put you in a 74/md class?

Welcome aboard, you are coming in at an exciting time.

I’m in the April 7th class and I believe that’s the “light twin” class. I don’t have heavy experience, so it’s sounding like the 6th start date is the heavy class.

Hoping for 75 SDF and eventually getting on the Z when I can. I’ll be commuting from PHL so thinking that would work out the best. Btw, I turn 37 in May so thinking I’ll be toward the bottom in the class.

I’m shooting for 75 SDF or 75 ONT. Not sure which yet based on my likely commute from PDX. Working on gathering as much info as I can before we get there (just like everyone) to hopefully make the best decision I can based on what’s offered.

Congrats to all in the April class. Were you all Feb interviews? Wondering if there are still many folks swimming in the pool. Thanks and Good Luck!

Haven’t seen the PRIA paperwork come through yet, and UPS said that had to happen before the FJO. So...no FJO here yet.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but will you still be able to attend class with a CJO, or does there need to be a FJO at some point?

robxjt27 03-10-2020 06:22 AM

Conditional Job Offer is just a penciled in date. Firm Job Offer is detailed hotel information, specifics of the first day and other pertinent information. You would need the FJO to actually show up.

Thank you. FJO is contingent upon things like drug test, drivers records, background, PRIA etc, I assume? What happens if a previous employer does not send in PRIA information (part 91 for example)

robxjt27 03-10-2020 07:00 AM

PRIA only applies to Part 121 or Part 135 in the past 5 years. The company receiving the PRIA request has 30 days to respond as per the regulation. Google Pilot Records Improvement Act and there is an Advisory Circular that explains it in detail.
