I’m against blackmailing people to vaccinate. However, all of our fleets cross national borders and are subject to the whims of other countries’ vaccine requirements. Personally, I think the best solution from the company would be to simply state that pilots who cannot fly a trip to a country requiring proof of vaccination will not be pay protected. Basically, the company doesn’t force it down your throat, but allows you to make an adult choice about what matters to you.
It would be possible for some with seniority or who are good at trip trades to avoid trips that require proof of vaccination if they chose. Practically, it is likely that our chosen career field will be unable to avoid Covid vaccination in the long run, but it would give more time for the longer term impacts of this vaccine to be researched.

I don’t really want to see your papers or even ask you the question of being vaccinated. That doesn’t change my feeling you should be vaccinated because you’re putting fellow crewmembers at risk (those operating and P3s).
