Pension gets better faster at FedEx. Maxed at 25y vs 30y at Brown.

Not as much of a player since the OP has ~15 years to go. The flat dollar A plan (captain) could be better than high 5 for FDX.

Paraphrased a bit... Might want to be a bit more realistic about your current QOL.

Assuming future contracts bring future Brown retirees up to current Brown retiree pension numbers.

How does FedEx compare with that aspect of the pension? Is a future retiree exact pension payment uncertain like Brown's?

The flat dollar multiplier will apply to everyone as they get older and the age group captures them. It is purely an accounting issue.

Fedex hasn’t had a pension benefit increase in years. Hopefully it will get addressed in any future TA (not a pancake plan ). The easiest change would be to raise the $260k earnings cap, leave all else the same. Even a “small” cap increase to $320k yields a $30k difference per year additional benefit, about a 23% increase. This 23% increase may on the surface seem like a lot, but that benefit has been unchanged for 20+ years I believe?

If living in base, can you bid a whole month of turn lines or are they sprinkled in with longer trips too? Trying to maximize days/nights at home.

Also, how junior do the turn lines go?

Turn lines have more days on. If memory serves me right you get only 12 days off vs the normal 14.

Yes there turn lines, either morning turns and afternoon turns. SDF has the most turn lines, MIA has some night turns to South America, ONT has historically had one or two turn lines but didn't have any for the bid we're currently in.

Turns lines typically have 12 turn trips in each four week pay period, PM turn lines sometimes have 13.

I did turns for three years and they provided a great QOL living in domicile. PM turns go senior to AM turns.
