It's been the trend for quite a while. There are sometimes a few MD slots, sometimes not. And I think maybe one class had a few guys sneak in to SDF 74 straight out of the gate, but the vast majority of the heavy classes are going to wind up ANC 747.

No way to really know until the next system bid comes out. Here are some things to consider.
A few MDs are on the chopping block next year so I wouldn’t expect hiring into that. We have taken all 74s on order and with all the hiring this year it is probably pretty well staffed. With that said QOL in ANC is pretty terrible so I would expect quite a few ANC people to bid out leaving positions to backfill.
If you get assigned a heavy class I would go in with the expectation you will be 74ANC for a while.
The cargo market is slowing dramatically and we only have 100 or so retirements over the next 2 years. If ATL goes on a cost cutting spree hiring next year could be fairly minimal.
