Default New hire bases

Hi I’ve search the forum but can’t find the info. Where are new hires being based after training? And are there any chances of getting PIE or SFB bases out of training?

Currently how long are the upgrades to left seat.
thanks

Atw, fnt, dsm, las, and bli for the most part. Sprinkling of abe, sav and grr depending on the season. Probably a lot of lax and maybe vps coming up for summer seasonality too. Never say never but you definitely will not get sfb or pie for at least 4-6 months post ioe. Potentially longer.

only 2 pilots in the last class of about 24 received the base of their choosing in the initial award.

This has got to be trolling. We just talked about this last week.

Don't come to Allegiant hoping for a Florida base! There are way better airlines with junior bases in Florida that pay better and treat their pilots better and are taking every pilot they can get.

If you live in DSM, ATW, FNT, ABE, SBN or east St. Louis (BLV) Allegiant is for you!

DO NOT COME TO ALLEGIANT EXPECTING TO BE BASED IN FLORIDA IN LESS THAN A YEAR!

Once you get back to Florida plan on 5+ years on reserve with no work rules whatsoever. Plan on shoveling snow if you ever decide to upgrade. Upgrade in Florida is 10+ years. Small bases you could get into a new base when it first opens in <5 years but you will never move up more likely you will move backward as senior people transfer in to ease their misery. This is not a good airline to be junior at.

If you live in AUS, DSM, ATW, FNT, GRR, ABE, SBN, BLV and like it there this airline is for you.

Default When will they get it?

Why do people keep asking these questions ad-nauseam? Its like they just need one person to tell them that they will get a Florida base within a year to validate their final decision to come here..

There is plenty of recent/current advice on this forum which will guide you to the junior bases, where you will be when you get out of training. There is also no such thing as a crystal ball to determine where you will be in a years time. If you are applying to Allegiant, you have some experience in this industry and know that being at the bottom of the seniority list is a bad place to be, and that with multiple bases there are multiple seniority lists, so you will be at the bottom where ever you bid.

The guys at the top will never leave - there is no benefit for them to go to a major. They earn way too much money with a great QOL. Only the guys in the bottom 50% will benefit from leaving and of that the bottom 25% will do so.

If you come here, expect to not move up, and have your apps out where you really want to go. Also, expect to never be a CA in Florida. Current time to line holding FO in FL is nearly 3 years at the most junior of the FL bases. You want SFB? Add a year. And those times are increasing at the same rate as time - i.e. in a year, add a year as the same guys who are junior line holders will still be junior line holders!

Based on the January seniority list not including the new awards which came out this week:

The 50% FO in SFB has an 8/16 hire date. The bottom FO in SFB has a 1/20 hire date

The 50% CA in SFB has an 11/07 hire date. The bottom CA in SFB has a 7/15 hire date. He will likely never hold a line as a CA in SFB.

The 50% FO in PIE has a 12/16 hire date. The bottom FO in PIE has a 1/20 hire date

The 50% CA in PIE has a 8/13 hire date. The bottom CA in PIE has a 9/15 hire date. He will likely never hold a line as a CA in PIE.

The 50% FO in PGD has a 9/17 hire date. The bottom FO in PGD has a 2/20 hire date

The 50% CA in PGD has a 1/13 hire date. The bottom CA in PGD has a 5/15 hire date. He will likely never hold a line as a CA in PGD.

The 50% FO in FLL has a 12/17 hire date. The bottom FO in FLL has a 2/20 hire date

The 50% CA in FLL has a 12/13 hire date. The bottom CA in FLL has a 7/15 hire date. He will likely never hold a line as a CA in FLL.

The 50% FO in VPS has an 11/17 hire date. The bottom FO in VPS has a 1/20 hire date

The 50% CA in VPS has a 7/15 hire date. The bottom CA in VPS has a 10/15 hire date. He may hold a line as a CA in VPS if they double the size of the base as they have discussed.

I’ll give the answer he wants…

Yes, you can get a Florida base in less than a year. I was in the July new hire class and I will be PGD based in March. However, I have already been involuntarily TDYd twice, the first time before I had even finished training. In the 5.5 months that I’ve been here, I have spent a cumulative total of about 1 month at home. Looking at the most recent data, it appears that in the numerous classes after mine, only 6 people have finished OE, so I’m guessing that come March, I’ll still be low man. The point? When it comes time to TDY out of PGD, guess who is going to be on the hook again.

I was super excited to be coming here, despite all the negativity on this board, but the first 6 months have really sucked. I have made the most of it by picking up a lot of extra flying and several VFNs, so these last 2 paychecks are nice, but I have no desire to do it again. I also have no desire to head back to training for the eventual transition to the 737.

On a positive note, I have moved up 30 spots on the seniority list so far, and 3 people in my class are interviewing with AA next month so you could move up the list quick, but that doesn’t really mean much if there’s nobody below you.

If you’re asking about Florida at Allegiant you’re asking the wrong question - you should be asking yourself what do I need to do to get hired at a legacy or Southwest or Jetblue or Spirit. All offer a superior QOL & far better overall compensation.

This is great information. I hate to ask, but could you provide the numbers on TYS, CVG, and AVL as well?

Thank you.

Here is the info for FOs in all bases. Notes that need to be taken into consideration when people post hire dates. we had hiring gaps from 12/2017 - 8/2019 and from 2/2020 - 7/2021. Junior CA award is now 2017 hire and likely to drop to 2019 this summer. It’s not as bad as many on this forum make it seem, but it’s still not good. If for some reason G4 is still your #1 choice- wait 2-3 years until we have a new contract (the only thing that will speed it up is lack of new hires). If we are honest though, any ulcc or major is a better option right now and lots of G4 pilots are showing that by walking away from years of seniority.
