Curious why UPS keeps their first year pay so low

Because that can’t keep up with the times.

As said earlier, this is absolutely spot on. If the company had its way, all the pilots on property would be stuck at first year pay. Obviously they can't do that. So, the next best thing then is to have a revolving door where many first years strangely resign just before they would have hit much juicier 2nd year pay (which the company bitterly resents).

yes, 9 just left in August.

if I were the same age as when I was hired and searching today, UPS would not be at the top of the list. Post 9/11 furlough/bankruptcies, a lot of us were looking for a home. In this latest hiring environment and the legacy contracts, I would be hard pressed to make the same decision today.

I’m sure many said the same about cargo in July 2001

These numbers don’t seem odd compared to other airlines…..Go wherever you are going to be happy.

The solver is cranked up to death by simmer. Each bidpack is worse than the last, EM down #3439.

The extra commutes/reports/unable to go home between trips built to fight the conflicts then make getting to that kill-you -in-your-layover-sleep a bridge too far.

Plus, most should have options that may just fit better, from their restart.
