Default AGE 68?

I just heard from a CLOSE pilot colleague of mine that AGE 68 is coming in November. How does everyone feel about that? I'm NOT so happy to be basically WORKING, forever. I would RATHER spend that time on the golf course. Haha. Just wondering if I'm the only one who's heard something/ANYTHING about this.

iirc I thought 67 was temporarily off the table until sometime early next year. Either way I wouldn’t want to fly until 67 or 68 with our lines, especially if you’re in ONT. When Hot Standby (ready reserve in sense) is what I have to look forward to when I get senior i’d rather take my money and find a hobby.

Age 67 got voted on and approved by the House in the FAA bill…the Senate has not acted on it yet…age 68 has not even been discussed.

Yes, but isn't 67+364 days ESSENTIALLY Age 68?

Pretending to be someone else and posting a fake rumor without any understanding how age 68 (67) works…

Troll that should be banned

If only there were an entire federal website dedicated to legislation...

https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-...5D35022F750B21

The applicable search is "Sec. 330"

Bill passed the House, has gone nowhere in the Senate, and ultimately the FAA Reauthorization that passed the House may or may not end up being what eventually gets through the Senate, reconciled, and signed by POTUS.

it’s possible it gets changed back to 65 in reconciliation. However, authorizations have to start in the house. So, even if the current bill dies, the new one will be written by the same characters who wrote the old one. Hopefully, as they repack the sausage that particular spice is dropped. I have no desire to work part 121 that long and I’d rather not take the seniority hit from the crusty codgers who have to be pried out of the cockpit when they age out. That said, I don’t think Congress really cares about our opinions unless we have cold hard data showing a safety hazard.
