this is just anecdotal but I’ve had several MIL guys doing their familiarization rides on my flights and IMO a lot of these dudes are waiting for the big 3 to open up again to jump ship. I have passenger experience and many seem to probe a lot about it. To each their own, I give them the best advice possible, but it seems like most of them were just waiting for that call. I hope I’m wrong.
Most of them had a completely different perspective of what we do. They fail to realize we don’t work as a normal airline and that baffles them.

People also talk especially in this age of technology. It’s a lot easier to compare QOL issues nowadays. This definitely isn’t an airline. It’s not a bad job but I wouldn’t come in expecting it to be like other shops. I’d like to think some things will change but my confidence is low. It’s really low after looking at some of the B&G posts.

Getting your pay screwed up as a new hire isn’t a warm welcome either, especially when you already don’t make that much. I’m sure someone came in and apologized but that mistake can be detrimental to some families.

literally things like, dropping trips into open time, a cap of 55 hours drop, quick trades, quick pick ups, commuter clause, commutable trips, will be able to tip the scales in a huge way. Let’s see…
I too am tired of hearing the same rhetoric “oh we are a trucking company with airplanes” “what are you willing to give up? OVC?” “Oh they will just throw more money at us and it’ll pass” “if you don’t like it the majors are hiring”…. blah blah.
we have an awesome union and we should except the best for the type of flying we do.

^Basically, cosigned. I would be fine with Delta + 1 on the money, but there will have to be *massive* QOL (esp. Scheduling) improvements or I'm a no straight out of the gate. We kicked the can because the time wasn't right, and I think was probably the right move. But now it's time for results.

B. We fly at night. That comes at a premium that goes on top of industry leading.
C. Our company puts cost ahead of safety in building our schedules and in how they operate in general.
D. We fly a lot of hazmat, lithium batts, and in-house catering.
E. We fly for one of the most toxic, caustic employers out there.
F. All their payroll screwups, scheduling software errors and problems, etc.
Bottom line: drop this delta plus a dollar nonsense. Nothing less than way, way, way above industry average pay and QOL.
How about Ludacris plus a dollar?

A. Not a great idea to broadcast to the company what one Is and is not to willing to vote yes on. As has been stated numerous times by the people doing negotiations, the company will print these statements out and use them against our negotiators.

I’ve always said if they spent so much money Lobbying against us having Part 117, that comes with a premium way above industry standard. No passenger airline pilot is flying 3-4 flights in the middle of the night or flying 4 consecutive nights with 12-14hrs day “sleep”.
how about Delta +15%. And that’s from their A350 or whatever their largest fleet is, no more average BS.
