Default First Officer application process update

As we approach the new year and transition the application process from 2024 to 2025, the
Flight Officer listing will be temporarily removed from the UPS Jobs website on Dec. 23, 2024.
It will return during the second week of January 2025.
We understand that many of our crewmembers mentor prospective candidates, so we
want to share this information to reduce confusion and ensure transparency. Thank you for
supporting and guiding the next generation of UPS Flight Officers.
One of the most common questions we receive concerns how applications move from one
year to the next. Here’s a quick review from what was shared in the Nov. 8 edition of the Chief
Pilot Information Line:
Active applications:
• If a candidate’s application is marked as “Active” on Dec. 31, 2024, it will automatically
carry over to an “Active” status on Jan. 1, 2025, with no additional action required from the
candidate.
• Any Referrals submitted in 2024 will remain on file for the following year as long as the
application stays active.
• If the candidate shows an active application in 2025 there is no need to update their flight
hours. It is recommended, however, to continue updating their own logbooks throughout
the application process.
• If Talent Acquisition contacts the candidate, they’ll be asked to provide an updated resume.
Inactive applications: If a candidate’s application was changed to “Inactive” in 2024 without
an interview, they are welcome to reapply anytime after Jan. 1, 2025. However, Referrals will
need to be resubmitted for consideration.
Interviewed candidates: Candidates who were interviewed but received an “Inactive” status
can reapply one year from the date of their initial interview. As with other cases, Referrals
must be resubmitted

About six years to first available award as of a few weeks ago, subject to change if course. With a single payrate there's no lesser paying "junior" fleet.
