True story. There were multiple bids put in early and then during the last few minutes (adding fillers) and company had confirmation numbers with valid bid results for all those. Company chose to give the middle finger instead. Integrity zero. This is a great example for those looking to come here of what it’s like, especially during contract negotiations.

What confuses me is when I heard the story the secondary vacation bid was still open. I tried to submit a blank bid and it gave me an error message. The fact the crew member in question was able to submit a blank bid and receive a confirmation number should have proven it was a system glitch.

Again, you’re hearing the 100% accurate story.
You can’t “submit” a blank bid but you can hit (inadvertently?) “delete” instead of “submit” and you will get a confirmation number, effectively submitting a blank bid with no indication of what you’ve done. When a delete gets submitted right after a series of valid bids in the last minutes of the window closing, you can easily infer the intentions of the bidder. No one decides not to bid vacation, especially seconds before it closes.

problem could be avoided if the confirmation screen also listed your bid that was associated with it. also it could be emailed to you.
but that would cost UPS a dollar or so in programming so I guess we have to decide what we're going to give up for that, lol.

Thank you for the scoop

NP. To clairify above post, the crewmember submitted a bid at 09:59, took screenshot of that confirmation number, company confirmed that confirmation number was a valid bid. Then, company maintains a blank bid was submitted but have yet to provide CM with the associated confirmation number for that.
