But hey it's augmented and you sleep like a baby on paper sheets and pillow cases in the bunk.

Some babies wake up every hour on the hour, so yeah just like that.

(pro tip: carry your own sheet and pillow case, whatever thread count you prefer)

Or…and hear me out here….call fatigued when fatigued. If shady scheduling practices, lack of appropriate onboard rest facilities (to include proper bedding), or any other lack of foresight from the company are the cause of service failures, that’s a UPS problem, not a crewmember problem. They’ll eventually figure it out.

…and be aware that they purposely put the most egregious rest violations where you have skin in the game. For example: a two leg all nighter across the pond on go-home day on a daytime pilot. A reserve pilot will be revised ad nauseum to ensure the FAT call doesn’t benefit them overall. Be willing to lose out in the short run. Studies show, that you might get a few more years with your grand kids on the other end if you make the right call.

The whole “im going to sleep two hours after a 15 hour duty day to flip my clock” mantra needs to go away. It will literally kill you.
