No, you deviated at that point. Stay as scheduled and let sched know when things cancel and let them decide what to do. May still work out for you. This is absolutely one of the times you need to stay as sched.

They have to get you back to domicile, not home. Late arrival pay might not be worth the extended stay away from home….

Let’s say you live in CLT/ATL/DFW etc… and your as scheduled commercial on Sunday to work is through your home city where your picking up the second as scheduled leg. Are you technically in position? Covered “as scheduled?” How can you get screwed?

In that scenario I’d say you’re covered but never underestimate UPS’s ability to find a way.

As a commuter, I try and book the as scheduled for the second leg. I am not protected until I get to the connecting city and in position for the scheduled leg.

Since you live in the connection city, you are protected if you booked the scheduled leg out of there. You may have to go to the airport though to play the game even if it has cancelled.
