The grounding of the MD11 fleet could have an affect on future classes

Have a buddy that was suppose to have an interview. They got a call today from UPS HR that it was canceled and they will call back at a later time to reschedule. Sounds like they are pausing things for now till things settle down there.

Seriously doubt any more classes until there is more clarity.

Worst case scenario, they retire the fleet without any replacement shrink the fleet MD pilots transition to other seats, upgrades go back to 8+ years, hiring stops for a year. I feel bad for junior people having to fly the schedules here...expectation zero.

In theory the 76s on order were replacements for domestic MDs. Of course, Boeing doesn’t exactly deliver in a timely fashion

I think that was the plan prior to USPS. Not sure it was the case after.

UPS will shine a flashlight down each engine. “Inspection complete”. They will be flying out of SDF by Monday night.

I needed that laugh after this week. Fortunately I don’t think they’ll be able to weasel or lobby their way out of this one
