I don’t think this will come close to maxing out the training center. To my knowledge, they could publish the next bid a week from today with a bid effective date in October.

Hello, poolie here.
Based on what you guys saw on all these years at UPS, is there any chance for classes of newhires this year? Also, in a special case like this year, could they extend the poolies’ 1-year interview expiration date, or this is a hard term? Thanks. |

Iirc a few years ago they extended the interview expiration date and when we started hiring again they just followed up with the poolies to make sure nothing changed. |

None of us line folks know tbh. They don’t tell us much. Any answer is a guess right now. Some will be optimistic and say yes. Some will say no. All I can say is hopefully they’re treating the poolies better than in the past and keep you all updated.

Thanks Seminole.
No updates from them whatsoever until now, at least for me. etc. We definitely need the extra bodies on the line contrary to what management thinks. Seems like people are getting burnt out and not as willing to “push through” as they were in the past. |

Hopefully you hear something soon. I can only vouch for one person who I know is a great guy doing interviews (LP) but from what I hear interviewees seem to get a good vibe from whoever they get. I’d imagine they’re taking their orders from someone higher up when it comes to communication methods, questions asked,
etc. We definitely need the extra bodies on the line contrary to what management thinks. Seems like people are getting burnt out and not as willing to “push through” as they were in the past. |

Anecdotally, the number of fatigue callouts seems to be increasing from our previous very low numbers. The trips are being built with no way to get adequate rest (constantly shifting wake/sleep periods, etc) and after awhile you simply can’t anymore. I was “saved” from a fatigue callout last week by scheduling “stealing” my FO to replace another FO who had called out fatigued. My trip was truncated and I wound up not having to fly the leg that would have pushed me into a fatigue callout.
I know I'm dreaming.... |
